the suns out this weekend and its a good job as i’ve had a busy outdoorsy weekend. yesterday I went to a local festival, and wore this outfit! the hubs was playing so i had great fun watching him in the sun with a drink in hand. it was rather warm so I figured a straw hat was necessary along with this gorgeous bell sleeve top from asos. today i’m off on a boat trip for a family members birthday. the suns out again so i’m looking forward to a nice relaxing river cruise.

stripes, stripes and more stripes

cats eye sunglasses

stripy ootd white rucksackprimark stripy midi dress primark pool sliders stripes and denim
dress, shoes and necklace – all primark  //  bag – new look  //  denim jacket – zara  // sunglasses – deichmann

its those cats eyes sunglasses again but this time used in their full capacity, they’re quite amazing and definitely will be worn all the time (if the sun decides to come out properly at all this summer). the husband and i went to london zoo a couple of weekends ago to celebrate his new job. we had a super fun day and spent a looooooong time looking at the giraffes (love em). i’m generally speaking not a hair up kinda gal (unless at work) but I do occasionally sport a bun and this one was particularly on point if I do say so myself. primark are killing again this season, i picked up some amazing pieces on my most recent trip there, all of which will be shown in my next few outfit posts. this slip dress is a particular fav as its so easy to wear. i love it done casually with the denim jacket and pool siders but i’m also excited to try it with heels and a leather jacket too.

‘summer’ vibes

boho summer outfit Aztec print maxi skirt aztec maxi skirt Old Amersham view summer fashion New Look maxi skirt boho maxi skirtcamel tasselled jacket boho vibes jacket – c/o celeb look *  //  skirt – asos (out of stock – similar here)  //  tshirt – primark  //  bag – primark  //  necklace – new look  //  sandals – george at asda (last year)  //  sunglasses – primark

it’s on days like this where i realise what a wonderful place the world is and how lucky I am to be living in a small town in Buckinghamshire. surrounded by fields, quaint towns and picturesque views you’d be forgiven for thinking that i’m forever wandering around in floaty garments and sunglasses. you’d be wrong. . . having had a few days of lovely summer sun last week, I woke up on Saturday with the sun streaming through the curtains, so I grabbed my maxi skirt and headed off with the guy who put a ring on it, to take some photos in a nearby field. well needless to say i was bloody freezing because of the darn wind (some of the outtake photos are hilarious btw). but pretty pleased with the final pics so enjoy. . . this gorgeous maxi skirt is from new look via asos, which is now, sadly, out of stock. maxi skirts with the double splits are everywhere so you won’t have trouble finding similar elsewhere. i really do love this fringed jacket but unfortunately celeb look don’t seem to be stocking it anymore, again its a popular trend so i’m sure you can find similar if you fancy one yourselves. i really hope it starts to get warmer soon, my pasty legs are in need of some colour and this skirt needs to get out of the wardrobe again soon.

outfit of the week #105

black longline duster jacket

i’ve never been overly keen on skater style dresses, the style just doesn’t suit me and they either look too long, too short or they make my behind look mahoose . . . this one from blue vanilla was no exception, i tried it on hoping to have a skater dress revelation but it hit just above my knee and made me look and feel very frumpy. so a simple belt was needed to save the day. by drawing it in slightly at the waist and adding a pair of heels, the dress (for me) is transformed, and lets just cover that ass up with a longline jacket. . .

beach wave hair longline duster caot blue vanilla dress details New Look rings red lips oversized white clutch coat – c/o another8 *  //  dress – c/o blue vanilla *  //  shoes – primark  //  rings – new look  //  bag – primark

a long black coat makes any outfit look smart and posh, don’t you think? i love the pinstripe detailing on this particular one and the white pinstripe inside lining too. the black court shoes where a must for this look and i’m in love with my new set of silver look rings from new look, they compliment the simple neckline of this grey dress so much and i think, add a little je ne sais quoi to the whole outfit. Thanks for reading and please let me know your thoughts below.

outfit of the week #100

hello all, sorry its been a while since the last outfit post, didn’t have a chance to take any pictures last weekend so no posts, although you all seemed to enjoy my summer dresses wish list instead. i bring you a smart casual outfit today, which i just chucked on to wear to the pub to meet some friends recently. i really do love an oversized shirt and not just to slob around the house in. they look fab dressed up with some skinnies and heels. this checked one from h&m has been worn repeatedly with both blue and black denim jeans since i purchased it and my little peep toe shoes are starting to fall apart from the amount of love they get.

Coat – New Look (teens)  //  jumper – Primark  //  jeans – Primark //  bag – Primark  //  Shoes – F&F at Tesco

Its all about staying warm in this weather right? Snuggly, oversized jumpers are the way forward until about March for me. I was really lucky to pick this coat up in the kids section of New Look for £20, its the perfect length and the tartan print on it is so wintery and gorgeous. Tesco are so on their shoe game right now, these little babies are so similar to a pair I nearly brought in Next but they are half the price.  Even though its cold I still can’t stop wearing my ripped denim jeans, is it acceptable to wear tights under jeans, or do I need to embrace the cold knees?
Thanks
